The Navy Tuxedo

The Tuxedo. When building a wardrobe, it's probably one of the last items to make the list from the perspective that it most likely will get the least amount of wear unless you work in an industry where formal or black tie events are part of the norm.  Not the case for me.  Yet, I inevitably found myself wanting my own.  I started by hitting up the local thrift stores hoping to come up on something classic that I could get tailored to suit me, but after a few months of no luck, I decided to move on to off the rack options.  Luckily, I was in no rush and determined to get exactly what I wanted and that's when the lightbulb went off.

To get exactly what I wanted, it dawned on me that made to measure was going to be the way to go and quite frankly if there was ever anything to get MTM, a tuxedo would be it.  Hopefully it is something you'd get a lifetime of service out of.  On a random note, months before I got on this "mission", I picked up these patent loafers from Cole Haan.

The purple trim around the loafers gave a slight dash of color to the ensemble and I added a lapel pin from byElias to complement the look.
