One of my favorite things about being a GQ Insider are the occasional opportunities to check out products from some great brands. I recently received this rose gold on brown leather watch from Bulova. It's part of their Accutron II Surveyor collection and as soon as I cracked the box, I knew it was right up my alley - an updated classic. The richness of color of the blue face with the sweeping second hand, placement of the date window at the 6 o'clock mark and the positioning of the crown at an angle are all little details that really give this watch that extra something. When I got the email about the watch coming my way, I had no idea what it would look like, yet coincidentally it arrived on the day I wore this get up. Serendipity?
As the temperature cools and the rain continues to fall, I'm continuing to enjoy pulling out the heavier fabrics and the boots as well as the opportunity to add layers to my attire. Folks are probably tired of my ongoing thoughts about the combination of the navy and gray being a go to, but its yet to fail me.

Fall. The holy grail of seasons for #menswear enthusiasts. Fall seems to just bring with it the right weather for dressing. On the perfect day, you can layer up without getting too hot or too cold, rolling cardigans and heavier fabrics with texture into the rotation. After going through a black and charcoal spell for a while, I now gravitate towards earth tones and there's no season that complements earth tones like fall does.

I think this is the first time I've done a post with a bowtie. Probably because for some reason it takes me forever to tie one and definitely not something that I have the patience to jack around with when getting ready for work in the morning. However, every once in a while I get the urge to tie on one.
Occassionally I go through my closet and identify pieces that I no longer really wear. I was going through this process not too long ago and came across these olive cargo pants I bought at H&M right after they opened their first store here in St. Louis. I really dug the color but realized that as my personal style had evolved, I no longer cared for the fit. It was either get rid of them or pay a visit to my man Daniel Morgan. Three days later, the finished product was elevated into the top five pairs of pants that I own. While I normally am very casual with these, I decided to take a more "dressed-up" approach.

I was recently lucky enough to partner up with Talley & Twine on a KickStarter project to bring their "Worley" chronograph to life and was quite happy to see it hit its funding goal and even happier with the final product. Check them out here.
