Marlon, Terry & Mark
While for many, Pitti is about the outrageous, getting captured by the camera lenses and hopefully ending up on some magazines website, the real treasure is inside. Don't get me wrong, I don't knock the free publicity but not at the expense of getting to see what some of the finest brands and tailors have coming.

So I left St. Louis on Sunday planning on arriving early evening in Florence and it was relatively smooth going until we attempted to land in Florence. One thing to know about the runways at the Firenze airport is that they are a bit short, so when the weather isn't in the slightest ideal, there's pretty much no landing there. Needless to say, after circling for a bit in what was some of the worst turbulence I've ever experienced, we were rerouted to the Pisa airport and bussed into Florence. Better late than never.

After finally arriving and taking a taxi to the beautiful AirBNB apartment I was staying at to connect with Mark, Marlon and Terry, we wandered our way to a restaurant that turned out to only have vegetarian options. Options that were so good, we ate there multiple times during the course of the week. After dinner, I pretty much crashed
On the first day, I came across a brand called Ernesto which quickly became one of my favorites the entire week. I loved what they did with color, design and texture when it came to their jackets and coats. I found myself stopping each time I walked past their booth to take in the pieces one by one. For me, that's one of the most interesting parts of Pitti - getting to discover brands that weren't on my radar at all.
