One of my goals this year is to be very intentional about adding key and quality pieces to my wardrobe. After completing my "closet analysis", I made a list of items that I think are essential to rounding it out for the long term and one of those items was a bomber jacket. Then began the hunt. I had to figure out if I wanted to go new or vintage and how much I wanted to spend. After checking a couple of thrift stores and hitting eBay, I landed on the JCP website and came across this one by St. John's Bay. I liked the feel of the nappa leather used along with the removeable shearling collar, channel-quilted lining, ribbed cuffs & hem.
Sizing down gave me the fit that I was looking for and to wrap it up in a nice little bow, I was able to get a price match in store for the online price ($79.99 vs $129.99), and combining that with an additional 25% off discount brought this bad boy home with me for $60 + tax. I realize much is often made of the mechanics of a great wardrobe, thinking down the line, I look forward to wearing the hell out of this jacket and beating the leather up.
