Its been a while since I posted a full suit look and I thought what better way to get back in the saddle than with what I consider a fairly basic look a.k.a one that isn't too fussy and that I could essentially grab and go on a day that I was running late headed in to the office.
This combination was actually inspired by the JG5500-23 chronograph that I recently received from Jorg Gray. I particularly liked the stormy gray of the dial with the black leather band as at the time, I had no watches that checked those boxes. Even more interesting to me was the realization that Jorg Gray was the name behind the watch that President Barack Obama received from his secret service detail in 2007. Needless to say, I was't about to turn down a shot at owning a watch from the same company that produced the watch that the President wears and I wasn't disappointed when it arrived. With a Swiss Ronda movement housed in a stainless steel 41mm case, the JG5500-23 felt solid out of the box. While some might feel that a 41mm wide and 13.6mm thick case might be a bit much for a watch that could be worn with a suit, I'm quite happy with it as I feel its hits a happy medium. For a company that was officially founded in 2009, Jorg Gray appears to have a formula that works; creating quality timepieces for customers looking to step their watch game up to the next level.
