A Curated Man Goes To Florence - #PittiUomo89

During my first trip to Pitti, I was introduced to Florentine leather and the artisans that craft it into some of the finest wallets, briefcases and other leather goods imaginable. This trip I was determined to get my hands on some. After checking out a few of the stands at the show, I tracked down one of my favorites and picked up a briefcase, wallet and coin purse all in the same leather. Some of the finest handwork and most supple leather I've ever been lucky enough to own.

I was particularly interested in the various accessory brands we came across as I accompanied the twins and Terry on some of their buying stops. Hence all the photos of gloves and belts. The relationship between the brands taking orders and buyers is one that often doesn't get highlighted when Pitti is covered. I suppose it isn't particularly glamorous but as a banker, the business aspect of Pitti is just as interesting to me.

There was so much inspiration to be found wandering around the various brand stalls. I found myself staying away from the larger, more recognizable brands and exploring a few lesser known (to me at least) names.

I know I've said this before, but Pitti is a great event in that it shrinks the world a bit. Connected with Australia-based, Jared of APoorMansMillions via Instagram a while back and finally got to meet in person at Pitti 89.

During the last three years, he's really created his own name and separated himself from the noise. Also helps that despite the glamour, he's actually a down to earth, funny guy.
