Once upon a time, I would have avoided a jacket in this color like the plague. Combine the color with the fabric being a cotton-linen blend and you have yourself a jacket that some would not consider very practical if one was just building out a wardrobe. Since that isn't really the case for me and the price was right in my opinion, I decided to give it a shot. Cut from a cloth from Italian mill, Alfa Fi, the fabric looks like heavy weave but is actually quite light with a decent drape to it. The good folks at Banana Republic were kind enough to make it semi-constructed which given that this is a jacket that is meant to be worn in the summer, was a really smart move. I found the softer shoulders to be excellent as they eliminated the issues I normally run into with off the rack jackets. Banana Republic calls this their "modern slim" fit which is also apparently the slimmest they have. I had to size up to get the right amount of room around the middle. The jacket features functioning sleeve buttons which could be an issue for those that may need to have the sleeve length altered.
