Not too long ago, I realized that I didn't really consider myself a fan of odd jackets and being the nerd I am, I spent some time analyzing why. Turns out its because I'm obsessive about symmetry. I like things to be balanced and a jacket without corresponding trousers....well, let's just say it doesn't sit well with my brain. So needless to say, I see this as a challenge to be overcome. I've picked up a couple of jackets to help me with reprogramming my brain this spring/summer season, starting with this quarter lined piece from Cantarelli. It also reaffirms my love for soft tailoring as executed by Italian tailors.

While the pattern on this jacket isn't overly bold in my opinion, I feel that anchoring the rest of the look with solid pieces helps my accomplish the sense of balance that my brain seeks so desperately. I'm looking forward to truly getting comfortable with looks like this.
