Or so goes the cliche; While hitting thrift stores can be very much a hit or miss thing in my neck of the woods, every once in a while I find some items that make driving the miles, breathing in the smells and occassionally elbowing the "competition" out of the way worth it.
I found this jacket a year or so ago and really loved the combination of the rich burgundy color with the gold buttons. It fit perfectly through the shoulders and body but the sleeves were a tad too short. At $7 & seeing some extra fabric to let out, I figured it was worth the risk. Even with stronger shoulders than I normally go for, after a short visit to my tailor Daniel, I have a jacket that I plan on getting many years of wear out of.
Not too long afterwards, I came across this vintage Lanvin tie for $2 at a local re-sale shop. After a few months, their paths finally crossed.
